The Executive Board of the Harmony Leland Elementary School (HLES) Foundation made a special trip to Pebblebrook High School to acknowledge and thank senior Kasey Williams as the winner of their branded logo challenge.
The foundation for HLES, in its’ second year, was established to advocate for the school by engaging community stakeholders to assist in providing resources to fund initiatives that enrich the learning experiences of students and staff members.
The gathering provided HLES with an opportunity to recognize Williams for developing the organization’s logo as well as thank all of the graphic design and production students who participated in the assignment challenge. These talented students made choosing the final logo a difficult decision.
According to the organization’s president, Erika Santiago, the newly minted logo Williams created will go a long way to help the organization build awareness and solicit the funding needed to meet its’ goals. This year’s goal is to raise $30,000 dollars for five (5) classroom sets of iPads and carts.
The presentation was made at Pebblebrook High School in Mableton at 10AM on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 with the help of Principal Travis Joshua, Dr. Kevin Daniel, Asst. Superintendent and Dr. Alvin DeCuir, department chair and graphic design instructor.
As part of Kasey’s recognition, he received a framed version of his winning logo, an actual T-shirt with the logo fully displayed and a gift card in appreciation for the display of his talent and imagination.
